Terms of Use for English Book Reader AI & Learn

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of English Book Reader AI & Learn (the “App”), provided by Cao Vu Hung, the operator of englishbookreader.com (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The App helps you read English books and documents, listen with text-to-speech, translate sentences, and learn vocabulary, phrases, and grammar from the content you choose.

These Terms cover the App. Browsing, Library downloads, website contributions and copyright reports are governed separately by the Website Terms of Use.

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Eligibility

If you are not old enough to agree to these Terms under the laws where you live, use the App with a parent or legal guardian’s consent and supervision. If you use the App on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

Your Content

You are responsible for the books, documents, text, notes, scans, photos, saved learning cards, and other content you import, paste, write, store, read, listen to, analyze, or send to support in the App (“User Content”).

You represent that you have the rights or permission needed to use your User Content in the App. You agree not to use the App to import, store, process, analyze, or distribute content that violates laws, infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy rights, or breaches any agreement that applies to you.

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. The App stores your library content and reading data locally where possible. You are responsible for backing up any content you want to keep.

App Features

The App supports:

• importing PDF, EPUB and Word (.docx) files, camera scans, photos, pasted text and notes;
• exporting and importing a document, folder or library using an .ebrbook bundle;
• reading and listening with text-to-speech, highlighting, saved reading progress and settings;
• AI vocabulary, phrase, grammar and sentence translation features, with saved learning cards and practice;
• voice downloads, local audio caching, support and optional notifications.

Reading and listening work offline after the required voices are available. New AI analysis requires internet access. File quality, encryption and unusual layouts may affect text extraction. OCR, speech and AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete; review results before relying on them.

Features may change, subject to applicable law and store rules.

Free Trial, Paid Features, Purchases, and Subscriptions

Importing, reading and listening are free. Online AI analysis has the trial and subscription limits described below.

The App may offer a free trial for AI vocabulary, phrase, grammar, and translation analysis. The current free trial lasts 7 days from when you tap Get started on the welcome screen during initial setup, even if you have not used AI analysis yet, and covers up to the first 1,000 words of each book. The App displays the active trial terms before or during use. When the trial ends or the free per-book limit is reached, reading and listening may continue, but additional AI learning analysis may require a paid plan.

Paid access is offered through subscriptions shown in the App. Current plans are monthly, 3-month, and 6-month auto-renewable subscriptions. The App does not offer a one-time or lifetime purchase. The App shows available plans, local prices, billing periods and usage limits before purchase.

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Your purchase is subject to the store terms, payment rules, refund rules, and subscription management tools of the platform where you purchased. The price and billing period of each option are shown in the App before you buy and are charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.

For auto-renewable subscriptions:

• subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, according to Apple App Store or Google Play rules;
• your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period;
• you can manage or cancel your subscription through your app store account settings;
• deleting the App does not automatically cancel your subscription.

You can restore previous purchases from the paywall using “Restore purchase” where available. We rely on Apple, Google, and our backend systems to validate purchases and restore entitlements. If purchase validation fails because of network, platform, account, or technical issues, access to paid features may be delayed until validation succeeds.

We may change which features and limits apply to free access, free trials, and paid plans over time, subject to applicable platform rules and law.

Acceptable Use

Do not use the App to infringe copyright, privacy or other rights, distribute malicious content, impersonate others, bypass purchase checks or usage limits, or disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our services. Do not reverse engineer or tamper with the App except where applicable law permits it.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design, branding, graphics, text, features, learning flows, and other materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal or internal learning and reading purposes on devices you own or control, according to applicable app store rules.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

Privacy

Our App Privacy Policy explains document processing, online AI requests, purchases, analytics, diagnostics, notifications and support data.

Third-Party Services

The App relies on app stores, operating-system services, Firebase, file hosting and AI infrastructure providers. Their services are subject to their own terms and availability; we do not control their outages, payment decisions or account restrictions.

Learning, Translation, and AI Output

AI explanations, translations and other automated results are learning aids and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Check results before relying on them. The App does not provide professional advice or guarantee learning outcomes.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, compatibility with every file or device, or accurate and complete text extraction, speech or AI results.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, revenue, goodwill, learning progress, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the App or paid features during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or paid features if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, interfere with purchase validation or quotas, create legal risk, or if we discontinue the App or relevant services.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute-related provisions.

Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice where required.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your location require otherwise.

Apple App Store Additional Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply and take precedence over any conflicting terms in this document:

• This license agreement is concluded between you and englishbookreader.com only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). englishbookreader.com, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
• The license granted to you is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store’s Usage Rules.
• Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.
• In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
• Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights.
• You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce this agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.
